FAQ'S

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How old were your kids when you first started traveling with kids?
Our first road trip as a family was 10 days after Lily was born. We rented a home in the Engadin region and spent a week enjoying Christmas with my parents. I first flew alone to Canada with Lily when she was 7 weeks old, we've made multiple trips back and forth every year since. Believe it or not, it's easier to travel with babies the younger they are. We are very fortunate in that traveling with our kids at any age has been a breeze as they are extremely adaptable.
  • How are you able to travel so much?
In general, we use every opportunity we have to travel and explore as much as possible. Living in Switzerland enables to have a minimum of 4 weeks paid holiday per year, but thankfully our jobs allowed us to take even more. We try to be conscious of our spending habits and live within our means. In July 2019, we both took a year sabbatical so that we could fully enjoy time together as a family before our kids go off to school. We'd been dreaming of it for as long as we've been together and definitely something we would recommend to everyone with small children.
  • What is your career background?
Whitney is a certified teacher and has been teaching physical education and outdoor education in Canada, the USA and Switzerland for over 10 years. Rafael has been working in the global sports marketing and events industry for over 10 years.
  • What photography gear do you use?
We currently shoot with Sony bodies and lenses. Our main camera body is the Sony a7Riii and our most used lenses are the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM, the Sony 16/35mm f/2.8 GM and the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM lenses.
