HOW WE BECAME A FAMILY OF EXPLORERS
We're a Swiss/Canadian family who loves to explore new places and cultures. Our story began back in 2018 when we decided to take a one-year sabbatical and travel together as a family. At the time, we were consumed by work and raising our young family and realized quickly how fast time passes when you have children. We had always dreamed of taking time off to travel with our kids and wanted to do it while they were young to create memories and build a strong foundation for our family. So we decided to sell everything, bought and converted a used shuttle bus and our greatest adventure began.
We set off in August 2019, spending 3 months on the road, exploring some of the most iconic places in Canada and the USA. We left our bus for the winter and traveled all over the South Pacific, Australia, and New Zealand before the pandemic hit, bringing everything to a sudden stop and forcing us to return home. With a lot of uncertainty in the world, we kept working towards our goal, developed new skills, and waited patiently for the right time to resume our trip. We set off on another year of travel in September 2021 and we were so fortunate to be back doing what we love most.
Our experiences through travel and the outdoors have greatly influenced our values. We believe in making the most of the time we have, creating lifelong memories, and learning to live more sustainably with less. We created No Place Like Nature as a place to inspire like-minded families and individuals who want to live a life with intention, place value on experiences instead of possessions, and find joy exploring this beautiful planet.
